THE SHINY STUFF

THE HOLOS WE CHASE.

Vintage Pokémon holo cards are never just one category. We look for Japanese and English classics, swirl copies, strong raw condition, and the occasional 1st Edition piece worth stopping for.

01

FROM JAPAN

JAPANESE VINTAGE HOLOS

Classic Japanese Pokémon holos with bold foil, vintage artwork, collector-favorite Pokémon, and the clean presentation that makes Japanese cards so much fun to chase.

02

CLASSIC ENGLISH

ENGLISH VINTAGE HOLOS

English vintage Pokémon holo cards from the eras collectors grew up with—chosen for artwork, nostalgia, condition, and overall eye appeal.

03

THE LITTLE EXTRA

HOLO SWIRLS

Some vintage holofoil cards show visible swirl patterns in the foil. When the placement hits just right, that little detail can make an already great card even more memorable.

04

WHEN AVAILABLE

1ST EDITION HOLOS

1st Edition vintage Pokémon holos can enter the lineup when we have them, including cards from classic English sets and collector-favorite eras.

05

CONDITION FIRST

NM–MINT RAW

For clean raw holo cards, we pay close attention to the surface, holo scratching, corners, edges, centering, and the overall look of the card in hand.

06

NO GRADE PROMISES

GRADING CANDIDATES

Strong-condition raw cards may appeal to collectors looking for grading candidates, but we never promise a future grade. A raw card is still a raw card.

HOLO CONDITION MATTERS

THE FOIL TELLS
THE STORY.

Vintage holo cards can look incredible at first glance and still show scratches, print lines, edge wear, or surface issues under the right light. We focus on presenting condition clearly so collectors can make their own call.

Condition descriptions are opinions, not guarantees of a future grading result.

QUICK ANSWERS

VINTAGE POKÉMON HOLO FAQ

What kinds of vintage Pokémon holos do you run?

Japanese holos, English holos, swirl copies, clean raw cards, and 1st Edition holos when available are all part of the mix. The exact lineup changes from show to show.

Do you run both Japanese and English vintage holos?

Yes. CardComedy runs both Japanese and English vintage Pokémon holo cards depending on current inventory and the show lineup.

What is a swirl on a Pokémon holo card?

A swirl is a visible circular pattern that can appear in the holofoil. Collectors often enjoy swirl copies because the placement can add extra visual character to the card.

Do you run 1st Edition vintage holos?

Yes, when available. 1st Edition vintage cards are part of the material we’re building into future live lineups.

Do you sell grading candidates?

We do run clean raw holos that may appeal to collectors looking for grading candidates, but we never promise a future grade.

Where can I watch CardComedy live?
