CONDITION FIRST
WHAT WE LOOK AT.
A clean raw Pokémon card is more than a quick front-and-back glance. We pay attention to the details collectors care about before a card ever reaches a grading company.
FRONT & BACK
SURFACES
We look for scratching, scuffing, dents, print lines, staining, and other surface issues that can change how a raw card presents.
SMALL DETAILS
CORNERS
Sharp, clean corners matter. Whitening, softening, bends, and wear can tell a different condition story even when the card looks strong at first glance.
AROUND THE CARD
EDGES
We check for whitening, chips, roughness, silvering, and other edge wear that can be easy to miss in a quick photo.
THE FRAME
CENTERING
Centering is part of the overall presentation. We look at how the borders sit on the front and back without pretending that a raw card already has a grade.
UNDER THE LIGHT
HOLOFOIL
For holo cards, we pay special attention to scratches, print lines, foil wear, and the way the holo surface looks under changing light.
NO GRADE PROMISES
GRADING CANDIDATES
Some strong raw cards may appeal to collectors looking for grading candidates, but we never promise what PSA, CGC, BGS, or any grader will decide.
CONDITION OVER HYPE
CLEAN RAW.
NO GRADE PROMISES.
NM–Mint is our condition opinion on a raw card, not a certification. We look closely and describe what we see, but grading companies can judge the same card differently.
Raw condition descriptions are opinions, not guarantees of a future grading result.

Japanese, English, holos, non-holos, and other strong-condition vintage cards rotate through our Whatnot shows based on availability.

NM–MINT RAW POKÉMON FAQ
What does NM–Mint mean for a raw Pokémon card?
It describes our opinion of a card’s raw condition after looking at factors such as surfaces, corners, edges, centering, and overall presentation. It is not a professional grading result.
Do you guarantee a PSA, CGC, or BGS grade?
No. A grading candidate is still a raw card, and grading companies can evaluate the same card differently. We do not promise future grades.
What condition details do you look at?
We pay attention to surfaces, corners, edges, centering, holofoil condition when applicable, and the card’s overall eye appeal.
Do you run both Japanese and English clean raw cards?
Yes. CardComedy runs strong-condition Japanese and English vintage Pokémon cards depending on current inventory and the show lineup.
Do you run clean raw holos and non-holos?
Yes. Both holos and non-holos can be part of the lineup when we have copies that fit the condition and collector appeal we’re looking for.
Where can I watch CardComedy live?
CardComedy runs live on Whatnot. Use the Watch on Whatnot button on this page to jump to the CardComedy profile and current shows.
